Serving the needs of patients with non-communicable diseases

Access Accelerated Initiative

Non-communicable diseases – such as cancers, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and mental health disorders – are a major public health issue.

It is estimated that they are responsible for 38 million deaths each year, almost three quarters of which occur in low and middle-income countries with limited access to healthcare.

We believe it is through collaboration that we can build a future where no one dies prematurely from a treatable, preventable disease.

In 2017, Sanofi, together with 21 industry competitors and peers, the World Bank and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), launched the Access Accelerated Initiative.

Sanofi is committed to sustainable solutions that improve the lives of people with diabetes everywhere – children included. We believe that initiatives such as KiDS are also essential for promoting healthy living at an early age, potentially helping in the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
