Access Accelerated Initiative
Non-communicable diseases – such as cancers, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and mental health disorders – are a major public health issue.
It is estimated that they are responsible for 36 million deaths each year, almost three quarters of which occur in low and middle-income countries with limited access to healthcare.
We believe it is through collaboration that we can build a future where no one dies prematurely from a treatable, preventable disease.
In 2017, Sanofi, together with 21 industry competitors and peers, the World Bank and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), launched the Access Accelerated Initiative

We are committing our resources and expertise to reach one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: to reduce premature deaths caused by non-communicable diseases by one-third by 2030.
