Manuela Buxo is a purpose-driven people leader, passionate about serving patients and developing the next generation of leaders. Manuela is currently executive vice president and head of Sanofi's Specialty Care global business unit, where she and her teams are responsible for delivering a wide portfolio of innovative therapies for patients across immunology, neurology, oncology and rare disease.
Originally from Germany, Manuela's over 20-year career journey in healthcare spans across several countries worldwide, including the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, the United States, and Mexico. These rich experiences have allowed her to learn from diverse minds and shaped her perspective on business and life. Since joining Sanofi in 2014, she has held pivotal leadership roles in both the Consumer Healthcare and Specialty Care divisions. Prior to joining Sanofi, Manuela spent 14 years at Bayer focused on global brand and business unit management.
In addition to her professional commitments, she regularly engages in discussions with key external stakeholders from the healthcare sector around important topics such as access to innovation, burden of chronic diseases, and diversity and inclusion.
Manuela is a graduate of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
Outside of work, Manuela enjoys running and spending time outdoors with her Spanish husband and two sons, aged 16 and 14. She credits the support of her husband as a key enabler of her successful career.
