Patient Engagement

The COPD Patient Care Map is an innovative educational and advocacy tool co-created by the Global Allergy and Airways Patient Platform, the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patient Associations, the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Foundation, Sanofi, Regeneron, and Alira Health and shaped by nine global patient advocacy groups. It highlights the challenges faced by COPD patients and caregivers, bridging the gap between experiences and policy action, and fostering collaboration to drive lasting solutions.

We have collaborated with key community voices to elevate early-stage type 1 diabetes as a priority for governments and policymakers. Sanofi, in partnership with the European Diabetes Forum, the Spanish Diabetes Federation, the International Diabetes Federation, and the Parliamentarians Global Diabetes Network, has raised awareness of the costs of undiagnosed type 1 diabetes, prompting policy forums and efforts to establish official early screening guidelines in many countries. 

When someone is living with multiple sclerosis (MS), their words and the way they communicate can make all the difference – especially when many experiences are not always as they seem. Sanofi partnered with Jon Strum, a trusted advocate, founder and host of RealTalk MS to create Wise Up: Words and Why They Matter. Jon’s podcast cuts through scientific jargon and makes the latest advances in research and news accessible.

Sanofi got together with the patient community to create a symbol to unite people in the fight against meningitis, and so the meningitis flag was born. It was created with para-athletes, patient advocates, a textile designer and 2 patient advocacy groups: the Confederation of Meningitis Organizations and the Meningitis Research Foundation. The flag has risen to international prominence since its launch in mid-2023, embraced by people affected by meningitis, their families, patient advocacy groups, healthcare professionals and international organizations. 

MMoving Forward is Sanofi’s multiple myeloma flagship initiative, showcasing our global commitment to advancing care “beyond medicine”. This initiative unites global experts including patient advocacy group representatives, to co-create innovative solutions and improve patient outcomes. Through this, we enable patients and their healthcare professionals to have more meaningful conversation to improve the patients' experience and their long-term quality of life​, with the goal that every person living with multiple myeloma can move forward.

Sanofi’s Specialty Care Co-Lab convenes global health leaders to tackle challenges at the forefront of the global health landscape. Together the group co-creates people-focused solutions that help improve outcomes for patients, caregivers, and society, and shape healthcare systems for a better future. The patient and carer healthcare ecosystem journey map is one of the tools created to better understand stages in an individual’s journey. The map provides a framework that can be tailored to specific disease areas and regional healthcare landscapes.
