To Achieve Our AI Ambition, We Are Building on 3 Pillars:

Expert AI
Expert AI empowers our teams with massive computing power, machine learning and trained algorithms, to accelerate the pace of discovery, development, and delivery. This supports specific skills in data science, biology, and engineering to solve complex problems, especially across Research & Development and Manufacturing & Supply.
How Are Digital and AI Supporting Our Value Chain?
Research and Development
R&D activities are greatly supported with advanced AI, machine learning and data integration to transform the discovery process by improving the efficacy of our trials and identifying new indications for existing assets in development.
Our Target Discovery engines combine advanced AI, machine learning and data integration with experimental techniques for target validation to help us unravel disease biology and uncover new targets. So far, the engines have delivered seven novel drug targets in just one year. #ExpertAI
We’re developing breakthrough AI, such as deep learning and large language models to transform the discovery process of large molecules and biologics. We're changing the way we research with a focus on antibodies and Nanobodies. #ExpertAI
Our scientists are developing mRNA-based vaccines and therapies faster than ever with CodonBERT, our large language model pre-trained on 10 million mRNA sequences, which has cut down mRNA design time by 50%. #ExpertAI
Our Clinical Operations teams are using Plai during the recruitment phase of trials to make sure our studies are sufficiently diverse, providing the data we need to develop treatments that benefit as many patients as possible. #SnackableAI
Search & Design platform, a generative interface powered by a proprietary LLM trained on molecular data, gives chemists real-time access to generative chemistry design and allows them to interact with molecular structures in natural language, generate candidates, simulate reactions, and optimize properties on the fly. This drastically reduces iteration cycles and expands creativity, from weeks of lab work to minutes of exploration.
In R&D, a dedicated Digital Accelerator has been launched to rapidly test and scale data-driven use cases, notably around target identification, molecule design, and digital patient twins. These accelerators create fast paths from ideation to operational impact, and help bridge scientific expertise with cutting-edge technology.
Manufacturing and Supply
Our M&S capabilities enable faster delivery of innovative medicines and vaccines. Our launch units are setting new benchmarks, accelerating time-to-market by twelve months for our priority pipeline molecules, enabling faster delivery of life-changing treatments.
With SimplY, our AI-powered yield analytics platform, our M&S teams are spending less time crunching data and more time taking action based on data insights. SimplY learns from past and current batch performance to enable consistently higher yield, which not only gets treatments to patients faster, but also supports improved cost efficiency and contributes to our environmental objectives. #ExpertAI
The adoption of plai within our Manufacturing & Supply teams has demonstrated the ability to predict 80% of stock disruptions through probabilistic planning, correlating 65% of risks with a root cause and enabling teams to take proactive mitigating actions and secure supply. #SnackableAI
We have rolled out our fully digitized Sanofi Modulus facilities in Singapore and in Neuville, France to enable more responsive and flexible manufacturing across multiple vaccine and biological platforms including mRNA, while keeping in line with our ambition toward net zero emissions by 2045. Modulus was recently recognized in Time Magazine's "Best Inventions of 2025" for its ability to produce multiple products simultaneously in the Medical and Health category. #ExpertAI
Our M&S teams also are implementing Digital Twins at our factories to reduce the number of technical, trial and qualification batches required and reducing the time it takes to manufacture a treatment or vaccine.
Regulations require that M&S produce multiple and complex reports. We are automating these reports with GenAI, starting with the mandatory annual Product Quality Reports (PQR) then MSAT reports and C&Q documentation. Information is automatically extracted, synthetized and analyzed to draft reports ౼ cutting time and effort by up to 80%. #GenerativeAI
Our M&S Accelerator in Lyon officially opened in May 2025, with 30 recruits already building innovative solutions to transform pharmaceutical. Production through digital innovation – ranging from digital twins for virtual production simulation to AI-powered IoT systems.
Corporate and Commercial
Concierge is Sanofi’s internally hosted GenAI companion, designed to streamline daily tasks like answering questions, navigate tools and automate tasks, and guide Sanofians through their day with less effort and more ease. #GenAI #SnackableAI
Today, 20,000 Sanofians use plai every day—our industry-leading app that delivers real-time, reactive data interactions and provides a 360° view across all company activities. #SnackableAI
Our Commercial teams are using Turing to unlock personalized engagement with healthcare professionals. Powered by data and machine learning, Turing provides recommendations for the next best action: what to communicate, when to communicate it, and through which channel. #ExpertAI
Our PRISM project (marketing mix modeling) supports our commercial teams with marketing mix modeling for all product sales across global business units, across Sanofi. Modeling the return on investment for a combination of promotional activities, such as social media, TV ads and face-to-face engagement with healthcare providers, enables our teams to allocate resources as efficiently as possible. #ExpertAI
With Immunolab, we’re transforming medical evidence generation to place millions of insights at researchers’ fingertips in minutes. By analyzing more than 100 million real-world patient records, we can evaluate unmet needs, disease biology, and trends in clinical practice in immunology to help improve decision making, trial design and HCP engagement. #ExpertAI
Our Commercial Digital Accelerator, launched in Paris in 2022, works across all Sanofi departments and business units to develop digital solutions that revolutionize engagement with healthcare professionals and patients, boost omnichannel engagement, and improve the customer experience.
We are putting AI in the hands of every Sanofian and fostering a company-wide mindset shift that not only familiarizes our colleagues with AI, but also instills a culture of curiosity and creativity in our teams as they work to make the impossible possible.
