What is it?

A booster to transform breakthrough technologies and processes developed by best-in-class academic partners and start-ups into innovative solutions to accelerate our R&D portfolio.

In 2022, the initiatives iDEA Awards (North America) and iTECH Awards (Europe) came together under the same umbrella: the Sanofi iDEA-TECH Awards.

Sanofi R&D Launches a New Call for Innovative Proposals

The iDEA-TECH initiative funds collaborations with research institutions and early startups to advance cutting-edge science & technologies. Pre-proposals due by December 12, 2025. 

About the program

  • Seed funding of 120 000 euros
  • 1 year project duration
  • Dedicated Sanofi Project Champion and resources (subject matter experts)
  • A stepping stone to further collaboration

Who are we looking for?

European start-ups/biotechs and academics from our selected partner institutions developing cutting-edge technologies in the following areas:

  • Immunology & Inflammation, Oncology, Rare & Neurodegenerative diseases, Vaccines and Gene Therapy.
  • Digital, data sciences and artificial intelligence applied to drug discovery, precision medicine and clinical development.
  • Drug optimization and biologics discovery research.
  • Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics. 
  • Translational organ-on-chip and 3D organoid models of human disease.
  • Preclinical Safety and Digital Pathology.
  • Processes in Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control.
